Celebrity Infinity collides with dock in Ketchikan

The Celebrity Infinity cruise ship, owned and operated by Miami, Florida-based Celebrity Cruises, collided with a pier in Ketchikan, Alaska on Friday, June 3. The incident is currently under investigation by the United States Coast Guard.

In a press release issued on Friday, the Coast Guard said Marine Safety Detachment Ketchikan investigators responded to the scene after the cruise ship crashed into the #3 berth at the Ketchikan cruise ship dock. The Coast Guard in the Juneau command center was informed of the accident by Friday afternoon. At the moment, no injuries or extensive damage to property has been reported, according to the Coast Guard.
