Silversea is preparing to give its fleet of eight luxury liners a complete facelift. For the price tag of $170 million, the company will update and refine passenger suites, refurbish lounge and recreational areas, and install faster Internet. Even the company’s smaller ships, which travel to more remote areas and have a capacity for a mere 120 passengers, will see upgrades to public areas onboard.

The luxury liner travels to locations all over the globe with top-of- the-line amenities and staff. Silversea’s cruise itineraries include trips through Europe, South America, the South Pacific, and even places as remote and exotic as the Galapagos Islands.

Silversea’s investment in its liners comes as one of its top rivals, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, one of the most popular inclusive luxury cruise companies, pours money into its ships and improving the on-board experience for passengers.
